I always hear Julie Andrews’ voice when I read that phrase, ‘a few of my favorite things.’ I’ll have the song stuck in my head for hours after. Today I’m sharing just a small smattering of some products that I have really enjoyed for a long time. I was just using the cleanser this morning and really trying to pin point all the attributes I like about it. Originally I was my mind went to, “Well, I dunno. I just like it…” I’ll be more specific about what it is about each product that stands apart from the rest.
L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Waterproof Mascara
Starting off the list is my favorite mascara! I have gone through so many tubes of this product and yet I can never remember the name. I often go for L’Oreal mascaras since I have enjoyed many of their other mascaras in the past. I’ve been using this particular product for years now and I have found that the formula and brush are a pleasant pair. The mascara does tend to dry out fast, but the brush separates my lashes really well and deposits the perfect amount of mascara onto my lashes. The formula is very buildable and can go from subtle to striking in just a few coats. The brush itself is pretty long, but the short bristles separate lashes better than any other mascara I have used. I always have a tube of this mascara in my makeup collection.
Arquiste for J. Crew No. 31 for J. Crew Perfume
When Megan sampled this at the store she said it smelled like me, and I hadn’t even worn it before. I am always a sucker for sales, and this perfume was on sale only $30 for 1.7 oz. on the J. Crew website! D: I love how fresh and floral it was. I usually wear Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb or the Royal Apothic Noble Carnation, both very warm floral scents. This new perfume has quickly found its way into my daily rotation. Arquiste No. 31 is one of two perfumes offered in the line and its description says that it “takes cues from the fragrances worn by the artists themselves: A mix of damson plum, Bulgarian rose and patchouli are designed to evoke an avant-garde crowd.” A sophisticated scent that will make you feel like a J Crew model strutting down the hallway at work any day.
Body Shop Moisture White Cleansing Face Oil
I discovered this cleanser after reading a tip from Caroline Hirons, a wonderful blogger who I will speak more about later, to avoid frothing/bubbly cleansers. I would recommend reading her blog if you’re curious as to why it is best to avoid sudsy facial cleansers. Anyways, this oil cleanser is works thoroughly to remove makeup and leave my face feeling super clean, and not stripped. I’ve always used a washcloth to wash it off, otherwise it takes some effort to be sure there is no residual residue. The scent isn’t really anything to write home about, but that is not one of my priorities for a quality cleanser. It is a fresh, clean scent that is not overpowering, and I nearly forget about it as soon as the cleanser is off my face. I really enjoy using this cleanser and for $15, it is tough to beat!
